CAROL NOONAN AND DANA CUNNINGHAM Yes, it takes a village to raise a child, and a cd to raise an Arts Center!!! ....or something like that. One of those villagers is my good friend Dana Cunningham who has donated her musical talents and spirit to a cd collaboration that we hope will help us get the Stone Mountain Arts Center up and running, right here on our farm in Brownfield Maine. Many of my fans have expressed interest in getting involved in some small way with the Stone Mountain Arts Center...well here’s a good way to do it, and get a little music at the same time.
The songs we chose will be familiar to those of you who have seen us live. We tried to capture the feel of those special moments when we have performed together. We recorded with my good friend Chris Rival, and added the wonderful cello playing talents of Max Dyer to the mix. It is all about beauty, reflection and a even a little spirituality. Besides the traditional title track, there are four originals of mine, one being an instrumental composition......a first for me. Two of Dana's beautiful solo compositions and our rendition of Fields of Gold rounds this collection out nicely. Yes, “The Water is Wide” is only eight songs, and no, it is not cheap. But if we sell enough cds at this price to enough kind hearts, we will have this Arts Center up in no time. And like I always say, investing in the Arts is an investment of the heart. My husband Jeff and I are financing this Arts Center all on our own with no benefits from the overburdened nonprofit status. Why aren’t we going nonprofit? This is our land and our home and in the sad event that this Arts Center was a horrible idea, we need to be able to sell our property to get out from under it. So, we are risking a lot...our home and a way of life that we love, to do something that will greatly impact our community. If you don’t live here, you may not feel the pulse of our little town. But I am sure you can feel the weakening heartbeat of arts and culture in our country. But I feel a stirring in our villages...the natives are definitely restless. And if you can't fight the big fight, fight the small one. The small ones can really add up. I thank you so much for your support as always. |

Dana Cunningham’s solo albums...... I would strongly suggest that if you like this cd, that you check out Dana’s solo recordings...they are beautiful. A different and equally charming rendition of the track, Welcome to the World/Song for Ava Grace, is available on Dana’s album “Dancing at the Gate”. Along with a gorgeous Christmas
album, these recordings are available at : Carol Noonan’s other titles

| The song "Sail Away Home" was written and performed for the rememberance service for John Benson Whitmore and later on performed for the service of Sallie Weiss. We are dedicating this song to Sallie and John who have sailed away home, and to the loved ones they have left behind. | ||||
